Could you tell me what you like to read here ?

My dear friends

A friend recently told me that I should write shorter and more frequent posts. As a reader, he said that he would like to see something new frequently

I have put a poll on the right of this post - please could you vote

Thank you for taking the time to vote

I love whatever you write! I'd like you to write without pressure- whatever and however you do that! <3

I enjoy all of your posts very much.

I originally came to your blog because I saw "Floortime" and wanted to hear of your experiences with it. I also appreciate it when you discuss new therapies of treatments that you have heard or read about.

But, what really keeps me coming back to your blog are the wonderful descriptions of your everyday life. Through your beautiful writing, I can feel all of the emotions that you feel, ones that we all relate to. And even when not all is positive, you still have a way of uplifting us.

When you have not posted in a couple weeks, I miss it and look forward to your next post even more. But, then it is worth it when you catch us up with all that has happened.

Sorry for the long response... I could not just check a box. My short answer would be keep doing what you are doing!

I agree with Julie and Yugi, both. :)

I agree with Julie and Yugi as well, not to mention that I'm sure you make plans to do things and life sometimes doesn't go along with them.

I agree with the other commenters, you should be true to yourself, it's your blog, and people who love reading it will always come back. I too love your posts about everyday life and the fabulous photos x

It's the words and thoughts that matter and your original purpose for this blog. I would imagine there are times that you feel like you just don't have time for K, so put this in your "just for me" column.
My vote: do what's best for YOU.

I agree with the comment above :)
the blog is yours for you.

I voted, but I enjoy your voice, which I find difficult to categorize: observant, wise, and loving, with more than a touch of humour.

Write how *you* want, that's the most important thing to me.

Your posts may be long, but they are always worth reading. Even when it's just the descriptions of what has happened, your beautiful spirit shows through. And usually there is some amazing insight that pops out which might not if you were working to condense things more.

I don't think you should change unless you want to. Being yourself is the most important quality to hold onto and makes for the most real connections, in my opinion.

Thank you so much for your comments
You all are too nice !
No worries I am not changing my writing - and I never feel pressured to write
I was merely thinking about more of a daily journal experiment ( kind of like Julie does sometimes on "a celebration of or journey") rather than putting up a weekly update
And them of course being a researcher by profession got curious about what you like to read :-)

Experiment by all means but please do what feels right to you. As a mom of a 3 year old with development delays I know how hard it can be to blog. (Case in point, my friend asked why I stopped blogging)

I like your description of your days posts and I'm grateful for whatever you post. I know you are a busy mom and travel sometimes.

From a purely selfish point of view I would like some floortime techniques. I always wonder how to engage my child 1:1.

Forgot to add I have four weeks off in summer and would love input on some gentle low pressure activities for my child to unwind. I can email you offline...

I agree with all those who say to do what feels right for you. I like your longer posts & the short ones - obviously, we all like reading them often, but you have your hands full.

Write what you want. When you want. And more importantly - when you can.

If he wants shorter more frequent posts, he can write them - on his own blog. I'm just sayin ;)

I didn't vote, because I really enjoy whatever you write! I do enjoy when you go into detail about Floortime, because I've found there's almost no one out there to talk to about it! My one desire is to be able to talk to you "off line" and ask you a few questions...but I greatly enjoy your blog. I find it helps me get into a more peaceful and accepting frame of mind almost every time I read it!

I love your writing and pictures. Write however you want!

I agree with everyone else. Write what you like and how you like!

I have to confess that when you do post I am very happy to settle in with my reading, knowing that it will be good and long and leave me thinking about several different things at the end. It is almost a kind of luxury in a world filled with tweets and people who churn out brief bland posts every day to meet some kind of a posting goal.

That said, if you wrote shorter posts more often because you wanted to, I think that is an entirely different story.

I don't have any connection to the autism world but I find reading about Floortime and your work with R interesting regardless. You have a gift, so anything you write about is enjoyable to read about. Just keep it enjoyable for yourself as well!

I am happy with anything regardless whether it's once in a while or everyday! I look forward to reading it and hearing about you, your family and your life!

That being said, I tend to agree with Laurel (the last replier) mostly. Yet at the same time, sometimes wish for more posts. They're always wonderful, long or short!

I really enjoy reading all of your posts... and would be only too happy if you wrote more frequently! However, it is your blog so you must do what YOU would like to do! :-)

Bonsky said...

Your posts are perfect the way they are. Please don't change them!!! Quality over quantity:)

Bonsky said...

Whoops. After reading all the comments I wanted to add you should write however you want. So change if you must but only because it is something you want to do.

xoxo

Definitely whatever works for you! I know how it is with being a working parent and finding that window to write.

Just wanna statement on couple of general issues, The web site layout is perfect, the subject matter is genuine superb.

I'd really like to answer the poll, but I don't want to randomly pick one and I feel that's all I would be doing...

Would it be cheating to say "all of the above"? I love hearing about the general happenings in your life.. There's something serene about the everyday way you recount all the things you guys have been up to.

I find the Autism techniques invaluable: they always give me great ideas or even areas in which to work with with my son I always get inspired by the activities and experiments you guys do.

I have to admit, since I'm not that familiar with Floortime, I'm kind of joining those two categories together: Autism & Floortime. I love going away and preparing my own stuff for my son after getting great ideas from your posts.

As for the positive thinking, if I'm honest, that was the one I most wanted to vote for. But I don't know if it's *just* because of the positive thinking, if that makes sense? I always come away from your blog feeling better, like a soft balm has been applied or something.

I don't know that it's *just* because of the optimism emanating from your blog... I really thought about it, and yes, I think in large part it's because of the positive attitude, but the techniques you use and every day activities you describe have a lot to do with it too.

I come away feeling inspired and excited, so that creates a positive feeling inside me as well. (Sorry, pressed send before I was ready!)
