I am over at the Hopeful Parents website today writing about changing the way we think about parenting an Autistic child
Shakespeare in Hamlet says that "Nothing is good or bad.. its our thinking that makes it so" and I find this especially true of Autism Parenting .
If you have a minute do over to that lovely website here

Love the Shakespeare quote. heading over to Hopeful Parents to read the rest.
I just read your post on Hopeful Parents...THANK YOU. It was what I needed to hear. I've been struggling in the acceptance department lately and this is important to hear from another mom of an ASD child.

Hey there- i made a comment over at Hopeful Parents. It hasn't appeared yet but I'm hoping we can keep this dialogue going. I really think that just one person at a time can change the "thinking" of a general population (you'll see what I mean by the post reply :-)

K, I was asked by a friend if I would speak with a woman whose daughter was recently diagnosed as being at risk for autism. I said yes and I know that one of the first things I will tell her is to read your blog. It is so full of wisdom and understanding and hope. Not false hope--you are very realistic about your son's challenges. But I love your message--that there can be joy with autism. I wish more parents could hear it.
Brilliant as always.
Another great post K!
What a lovely, lovely thought. Our journey has certainly been as much about changing our perspective as parents as it has been about Billy's changes and development. I'm gonna go check out Hopeful Parents now...
Going over to check now...I'm always a week behind-but I get there eventually.
Attitude is everything :)
Loved your post, left you a comment there :).
