In my sisterhood
The sisterhood of mothers whose children cannot speak well or at all.
We say this often
"When will I hear those magic words ....
I love you ....mommy"
Not me
I have my share of longings
But, those words are something, I have never yearned for
While R may not say those words
I hear them everyday

What a sweet picture of a mama and her boy.
Lovely and touching photo and sentiment! I know just what you mean about "hearing" the unspoken words.
K, that picture is beautiful. The way R is holding your face... Yes, he loves you very much.
Beautiful post! Great picture to go with it!
Beautiful! Your love for each other is written all over the picture.
What a lovely photo. You will hear the words one day, but you they are in his eyes. You are such a great mom.
My Mom always said that actions speak louder than words....
How wise she is!!!!!!
*sigh*
there is no doubt that the beautiful boy is enraptured by his lovely mama. you can feel it in the picture - in his posture, his attention, and his affectionate touch.
what an amazing bond you share!
So adorable!
You are amazing. I will be sharing this post with a dear friend of mine - her son has Apraxia. Thank you for sharing this!
Absolutely Gorgeous image!
The look of love between you two is astounding in this capture.
LOVE it K!
Do you ever take a bad picture?
Beautiful post and beautiful picture. So very, very glad you are able to listen to R with your heart. I bet you hear so many rich and wonderful things from that boy of yours. :-)
So many ways to show love. It's there to see with no words at all. Your picture here speaks for itself.
Well, I can tell he loves his mommy - his actions say so much. Beautiful capture.
Beautiful, and so touching... I love it!
Such a rich, beautiful picture -- the colours, expressions, and love.
What an absolutely gorgeous photo of you both! I love your expressions...definitely lots of love there!!! (Oh, and you have beautiful hair!)
How gorgeous. Yes, you sure can hear those words in THIS photo!
He is so lovely. I adore him.
I'm so glad you *can* hear his communication and understand it. Lucky mama, lucky boy!
Awwww! You're going to make me cry!! That photo speaks volumes of the love between the two of you...and his body language screams it. The words would be nice, but it's good to know you don't need the words. Thank you for that... I needed a reminder to see the other ways D tells me- and he does- instead of mourning the absence of those 3 little words. ((hugs))

what a cute picture K !
I am sooo inspired and heartened by your blog. My precious grandson, age 16 months, is in the process of being evaluated; he most likely falls within the autistic spectrum. We, of course, are stunned, scared and unsure of the future...reading blogs such as yours has given me strength and hope for the days ahead. No matter what the future holds for him and our family, we will love and treasure him for the wonderful, precious soul he is.
